The answer to your question would determine on your taste. I personally like mild to medium flavor, so I use 4 scoops for 12 cups just alittle higher than level scoop. However if you like more robust flavor you may consider 4 heaping scoops. It is simply a matter of personal taste. Another thing to consider is different coffee beans have different level of flavors, from mild to very robust. Read the description of any particular bean type on the packaging or website.

Hope this helps some"

4 heaping makes 12 cups more if you want stronger coffee.

My measure is one heaping coffee measure to three cups of cold fresh water.

answer 3
If you like your coffee really strong (European-style), use one scoop per cup. One-half scoop per cup is more like it for the weaker style that most Americans prefer. To be clear, that's 6-12 scoops per full 12-cup pot. (Note: A "cup" isn't eight ounces when you're talking about coffee!)

answer 4
We suggest you prepare GEVALIA Kaffe the way you normally prepare coffee and then gradually adjust the recipe to your taste. If strong, full bodied coffee is your preference, we recommend the European recipe: Use 1 GEVALIA Kaffe scoop (or a slightly rounded tablespoon) and 6 fl oz. of cold, filtered water per cup.

Question

What if you use a heaping teaspoon per cup

How critical is the amount of coffee you use for each cup?
If you use a heaping scoop instead of a rounded scoop per cup,
I don't think the coffee will be much stronger.
