You obtain the coffee after the water boils in the reservoir, so it won't go beyond boiling point. I run a cycle of filtered water first, before adding the coffee into the machine, so my beverage temperature will not drop suddenly once it's ready. This way it is all warmed up, including the glass carafe. That resulting water I use to warm up my cup while my coffee is brewing.
Lift the lid on top of coffeemaker. Place a filter in the basket. Use the Gevalia #4 T Cone filters if you have them. Place coffee in the filter. On the back side of the filter you will see an opening. That is where you put your water. Pour the water in. Close lid and hit the on/off button.
You can use either the Gevalia Cleancaf Cleaner and Descaler or use 2 tablespoons white vinegar to 1 coffee pitcher (60 oz) of cold water. Pour into water reservoir and run as you would if making coffee. No filter or coffee in basket. When it finishes the brew cycle, empty the coffee pitcher and rinse it out. refill pitcher with cold water and repeat the brew cycle. Repeat a second time using only water. this will clear out any remaining vinegar solution.
There is a inverted mushroom attachment and spring that came off of the bottom of the filter holder that is detachable from the coffee machine (filer fits on this). I cannot find a way to put it back on. I have the spring and the little attachment.any ideas to fix? Albert
